Japan province and district famous place "Shinjyo "
(1868, 1868 Aug)
Yonezawa-shi Uesugi Museum Kura
Titled "Japan province and district famous place," we display seven pieces of repeated cultivation about Michinoku, Dewa, Echigo from Matsumae (Hokkaido) mainly. We describe gokumotei*shu with the stage such as general visit to the capital and Choshu War, Boshin War of the late Tokugawa period as bird's-eye view, and it is pointed out that people read current topics through this color woodblock print.
It is composition of "Shinjyo " to understand the influence of Boshin War plainly. It is color woodblock print (woodcut), but, in a series of products, Shinjyo is valuable document that there are few examples performing existing in a legend.
What you should pay attention to is description to lead from depths side, Yuzawa to in-hospital Yokote, Kakunodate (Akita). All are places where Shonai feudal clan beginning powerful feudal lords alliance various feudal clans fought against the new government from July through August. Composition to draw this range together seems to be able to say that we do not float if we do not take change of Boshin War into consideration.
We describe influence of Boshin War in other works carefully. After visit, please see by all means to every corner.
